ACQUISITION AND MANAGEMENT OF THE DOCUMENTARY COLLECTION

Tibetan pecha

Works are acquired according to the demands, the new publications and the money available. Our acquisition policy gives priority to rare documents and works published in few examples, threatened to disappear. Once acquired, the works are inventoried, stamped, catalogued, and archived. The data base is continually enriched by document analysis and the creation of indexes, karchaks in Tibetan. This allows for a rapid and efficient research in the holdings of the Tibetan collections as well as western.

TEXT TRANSLATION AND PROOF-READING

Text translation and proof-reading

Certain librarians are also translator-interpreters. They translate oral and written teachings from the scholars and Buddhist masters. They assure that the transcripts from oral teachings are proof-read and corrected, which are then edited in the form of booklets.

RECEPTION AND INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC
