western works

The collection of Western documents brings together two main categories of works :
  • The major Buddhist texts and teachings in Tibetan, Chinese, Sanskrit, Pali... in addition to teachings that have been translated into European languages.
  • Works about Buddhism that were written in one of these languages: Buddhist teachings given by modern masters, Scientific or literary works about Buddhism.
It is difficult to give a sacred text its full meaning. Translation can give a text a different slant than that intended and dilute its meaning. Because of this, we are doing our best to ensure the quality of our acquisitions.
The collection includes works written in many European languages, such as:
  • English
  • French
  • German
  • Spanish
  • Polish
Books and texts included in this collection cover a range of topics including philosophy, art, literature, history, travel logs, the different Buddhist schools (Theravada, Mahayana, Vajrayana), etc.
Categories and topics are listed in our catalog.
